La Source is a Cotes du Rhone Blanc from the Seguret winery, Domaine de Mourchon. After many successful years of producing award winning reds (Cotes du Rhone Villages Seguret Tradition and Grande Reserve, Family Reserve Grenache and Family Reserve Syrah), Mourchon decided to expand their range with two new reds and a white Cotes du Rhone through the negociant approach. They have been able to source some of the best grapes, juice and wines in the Southern Rhone to assemble two excellent value Cotes du Rhone (red and white) and a Chateauneuf du Papes (red). As negociant wines they are branded as Mourchon wines rather than Domaine de Mourchon.

In 2011 Mourchon released the first (2010) vintage of La Source with very favourable reviews. Jeb Dunnuck wrote in the Rhone Report:

“A serious white that has a real cut and edge, the 2010 Mourchon Cotes du Rhone Blanc La Source, 55% Viognier, 25% Roussanne and the remainder Bourboulenc and Clairette, starts out tight and angular, but blossoms with air (a quick decant is recommended) and shows beautiful stone fruits, peach, peach, underbrush and wet rock/flint like minerality on the nose. Medium-bodied and rich, yet very focused and pure, with brilliant acidity and a classy feel, this straight up outstanding Cotes du Rhone Blanc should be purchased by the case, and consumed over the following year or two (91).”

"The current 2012 release is a similar blend of Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette and Bourboulenc.

Winery Tasting Notes:
“A straw coloured wine, the delicate nose showing subtle floral aromas and hints of peaches and apricots. A full wine with notes of honey and citrus on the finish.
As much as being perfect as an aperitif, this white wine is excellent with grilled seafood like monkfish and cod, or with young goat’s cheese drizzled with some olive oil”
